P. Turley & Sons is a family business that goes back a long way. There's been a business at the crossroads in Dechomet since at least 1864 and what is now the agricultural and building supplies business has been trading from around 1900.

 

In those days things weren't quite the same, as an invoice from March 1917 reveals. This describes S. Turley & Sons as "General grocers, drapers, wine and spirit merchants and funeral undertakers" and lists a bushel of flaxseed, animal feed, tea and bacon as part of a single purchase.

 

Today the company focuses on agricultural and building materials and is still a family business as Pat and Michael, fourth and fifth generation Turleys, run the firm.
